Just found out that The New Wine (already mentioned before) are offering some of their song for free download. They’re a band from Bergen (Norway), a city which is probably best know for the fact that Kings of Convenience and Erlend Øye respectively come from there. And actually The New Wine’s music also sounds a bit alike Erlend Øye’s stuff. Anyway, you can download below…
PS: Here’s one more great song of them (not included in the download), the best one I heard so far:

Or whatever else could be the reason for this strange difference between the US and the Polish Microsoft website. Just found this interesting somehow when I heard it on The 404 earlier today. Click on the image to see it in larger size.
By the way, this has been changed by now, so also the Polish website shows the original image…

This year radio FM4 finally has a Hörspiel again. The last one was Junk in 2006 (in case I haven’t missed anything in between).
The new one is called Unteraltschach and consists of 10 episodes. They are airing Tuesdays and Thursdays, the second one today at 21:00. Past episodes can be downloaded from the FM4 website…

I watched the latest episode of CNET’s The Real Deal earlier today where they mentioned an interesting tip for air-travellers carrying a laptop computer:
So sometimes it happens that the guys at the security check take your laptop out of its bag or sleeve for closer inspection after which you might find it on the conveyor belt separate from the bag. So now if another traveller has the same model of laptop there might be some confusion. You can avoid that by simply taping your business card or other sheet with your name on it onto your computer.
Seems like an interesting tip that might save you and other travellers some time and nerves at the airport…
I just noticed that turveo.com has undergone a redesign and actually look much nicer new. For those of you who don’t know, Truveo (a subsidiary of AOL) is a video search engine and can be really useful sometimes:
Well normally if I want to watch a video on the web I go to Youtube first. But some videos – especially music videos it seems – are not available to users outside of the US or maybe they aren’t on Youtube at all. So if this is the case, I go to Truveo to see if that video is available on any other site so I can actually watch it. And most of the time I find what I’ve been looking for this way.
Just found out that viennese rock band Julia are breaking up. To be clear here, I never was a real fan even though I’ve been to three or four of their gigs over the years (the photo above was taken at Picture On 2006 in Bildein). Well somehow they were always there. Playing festivals, big and small…
In case you’re interested, you can read their statement on the breakup as well as the dates for their good-bye tour on their Myspace blog.
Oh yes, Monty Python is always hilarious…

Quote from Walking Turcot Yards:
“In April 2007, het Moleneind, a road in Drachten, The Netherlands, is painted blue to symbolise the water. It is 1000 meters long and 8 meters wide. It was created to form an urban river and recreate the path of a waterway that used to be where the road currently runs. [...]“
You can see the road in the picture above (more here). Interesting work.

Song of the Day: Delorentos – You Can Make Sound
Notes: In contrast to a previous statement Delorentos are not splitting up. So here’s a new great song. Download it here or listen to it on their Myspace page…
