Just found out that viennese rock band Julia are breaking up. To be clear here, I never was a real fan even though I’ve been to three or four of their gigs over the years (the photo above was taken at Picture On 2006 in Bildein). Well somehow they were always there. Playing festivals, big and small…

As mentioned earlier this year, a second Vapiano restaurant opened in Vienna. Back then the location wasn’t known yet but of course now that it’s been open: Praterstraße 24-26, 1020 Wien, Austria (see map below).

By the way, according to the website there is a third one to open in the city in April (location tba again).

Finally there is a name – “We Paint Colors” – and some kind of release date (April 2009) for the new Waxolutionists album. Previously the three Viennese DJs/producers had more or less been away for some time, at least as Waxos. They (DJ Buzz, Zuzee & Bionic Kid) were working on other projects in recent years and so their latest album Counterfight was already released in 2004.
Now there are already three singles off the new album. Feet Don’t Fail Me, Flashlight and Dance With Me all sound very nice and feature some great national as well as international artists on the vocals. So we’ll see what else the album will have in store…

If – at times – you feel like listening to some Soul/Hip-Hop/Chillout music (which for me currently isn’t that often), you could tune in to Superfly, a radio station broadcasting on 98.3FM in Vienna as well as streaming over the web. Right now they have The Message radio show.
And by the way the taxi driver who took us home from the last Flickr meet also had this station playing…

Another branch of the international Vapiano restaurant chain is to be opened in Vienna on 28th January according to their website. I know some people who will be excited about that
Anyway, seems like the new location is yet to be announced.

This afternoon I got two calls from some guy I didn’t know. The first time he sail he must have dialed the wrong number. But the second time it turned out that he had apparently called the extension I had at the company in Vienna I worked at for some time.
Back then I had set a call forwarding at that extension so that all calls coming in are diverted to my mobile phone and it seems like I never reset that. The funny thing now is that I quit working there in April and as I never got calls of that kind before it seems that nobody has ever called that specific extension for nearly 1/2 year…

All of you will probaby know already but tonight (20:45) the finals of the UEFA Euro 2008 is taking place in Vienna.
Ah yes, I will be in Vienna tonight. Whoever will win the match and be the new European Champion, I think (hope) it’s gonna be great here in the city…
